About us

This started with Spanish flash cards.

My son is 7 and he's learning Spanish. We wanted to practice with flash cards, but we wanted it to be something he'd actually look forward to. We looked around and couldn't find anything that fit, so we started thinking about how to make it fun ourselves.

He loves the old Super Mario Bros. games on the Super Nintendo. We started brainstorming what it would look like if the blocks you knock open had real questions behind them. I built a rough prototype, he played it, and he loved it.

Then my 5 year old, who's in kindergarten, wanted to play too.

When I showed it to a few people, some of them suggested adding online play. I didn't want that. What I remember loving as a kid was sitting on the couch and passing the controller back and forth. So I added local multiplayer instead. Kids take turns on the same device with whoever is sitting next to them.

What we're going for

A safe place for kids to learn, get more capable with technology, and play with the people around them. Nothing built to keep them tapping. No chat rooms, no leaderboards and no strangers. Just a space for your kids to learn and have fun.
